I know, I know; you think this couldn’t possible happen after all that happened with the hacking of the blog and everything. But, it did! I know -Krazy! And this is why I continue to write the blog called Kristi’s Krazy Town. My life is Krazy and Krazy things happen to me.
So, here’s the story. My internet service has been acting up for about a month or more. Like one minute I would have service and next minute I wouldn’t. I may have good service for a week and then be out one day. A week ago my internet service was dead. I called suddenlink (my provider) who told me their service was fine that it was my router. I then called net-gear who told me that they could/would fix my problem for a charge of $89.95. Really? Because I only paid $80.00 for your router so I’m not paying that. I called our friend and I.T. guy who was so kind to make a house call on a Sunday to tell me that we didn’t have a connection from suddenlink. He called suddenlink for us, explained the situation and set a service appointment. Tuesday; the suddenlink service guy comes out and of course I have internet at that exact moment. He was nice and said to let him look around and make sure everything looked ok with my outside connections. He comes back in a few minutes to tell me: “Yo neighbor has ganked yo cable”! Translation for those not familiar with L.A. Slang: Your neighbor has stolen you cable! My response was What! He said they climbed the pole, put a splitter on the cable line and had their connection nice and tight. My connection on the other hand wasn’t very secure explaining the in and out service I had been experiencing. Furious, I was. Luckily, Lee was at ball practice and had some time to cool off before coming home. He felt to mad to go over there so being the good southern gal that I am, I went over there! They weren’t home. I had a party to attend so I went back over there when I got home at 9:00pm. They were home. I knocked and the brother came to the door to say he found the note from the cable company and immediately started apologizing and blaming it on his brother who had moved out that weekend. The brother claimed to be a victim as well and had “no idea” that was going on with the cable. (Yeah right). I told him if that was his story he better stick to it because the cable company was mad and had called the sheriff. The next day…Lee went to work telling about our cable incident and our employees said that he had been stealing our water as well!!! Now it all makes sense! Last fall/winter our water bill was like $30-40 higher a month for 3 or 4 months. Lee was convinced that we had a leak. I had the water company out here 2 times checking everything! Then things suddenly went back to normal and we didn’t think another thing about it. He (who remains nameless) was running a water house from our house to his when we weren’t home. He told our other employees that Lee told him he could use our water while his was shut off. Uh-No-we didn’t. Now, if he would have been asked we would have shared our water, not my cable!
Another Krazy story – I mean really, who does this happen to?
Oh, and I forgot to tell you that stealing cable is a felony and has a $6,000.00 fine to go along with it!
